Spring through a Lensbaby

All-season tires are back on my car, and my hands are blistered from raking dead grass, it must officially be spring!  For some reason it occurred to me that I hadn't used my Lensbaby in years.  It's a novelty lens for DSLRs, and mine happens to be so old (9 years) that this particular model is kind of tricky to focus (the new ones are so much easier).  But it sure is fun when you have the luxury of time to play.
My husband Joel and I have been busy on the weekends with "spring projects", the first of which was this beautiful planter he made for me to grow herbs & veggies in!

It has been so successful, that only a week later, I have some sprouts!

Another exciting development is that all of my tulips are blooming this year!  My Mom got me the bulbs in fall of 2013, and only one yellow one came all the way up last spring.  The past week or so I've seen yellow, red, but today... two combos came up!  Exciting and unexpected.  Google image search tells me they might be "Olympic Torch" tulips, can any floral experts confirm or deny?

And while I was playing with this fun lens, I couldn't resist photographing Joel working on re-finishing our patio table that his Dad built, many years ago.

My next post should be more analog focused.  I played with a very novelty disposable camera at last week's Shutterbugs Meetup!  And in two weeks Focus On The Mission has our big, all-day photo walk through Detroit.  How will I even narrow down cameras and film to bring!?
